"Jesus and the 12 Dudes Who Did"

Bedtime with the boys is one of our favorite times of the day at our house. We take a bath, brush our teeth and then run to get 3 or 4 of our favorite books to read. So much learning happens at bedtime, it is amazing how much their little minds soak up when you read together! Case in point....I started reading this book to the boys 3 nights ago, "Jesus and the 12 Dudes Who Did". It is a great book about learning the names of the 12 diciples and what they were most known for. I thought this would be a great way to teach the boys about who the diciples were, heck, for that matter, I couldn't even remember all of the 12 names. Can you? I could name a few but not all. We sat down last night to review the book before we started reading it and Hudson remembered all 12 and what they did and Sheppard knew most of them...incredible! They definitely are stronger in their bible knoweledge at their age than I ever was! Nothing makes me prouder than seeing/hearing my boys get excited about God!

Teaching the boys about the 12 Dudes....
  1. Andrew....the first fisherman to go
  2. The youngest.....John
  3. The "thinker"(point to your head)....Philip; he stopped to think how could Jesus feed 5,000 food and drink?
  4. Put your "Bart" glasses on.(pretend your putting glasses on)....Bartholomew saw Jesus heal the blind
  5. Quiet and Shy...(whisper).......James
  6. The helper was Thaddaeus
  7. The Doubter.....Douting Thomas
  8. Someone was super excited about preaching with Jesus....Super Excited Simon!
  9. Who betrayed Jesus?....Mean ole' Judas
  10. Who walked on water with Jesus? Peter-Peter-Water-Beater!
  11. Who loved money? Money Matthew
  12. Who was the smallest of all? Just the otherJames
