Let's play ball!!

Shep had a great game tonight! He has quite the arm on him...threw the ball from 3rd base all the way to 1st! He hit the ball long and hard and slide into 3rd, just like always. I don't know if you can see the smile on his face in the picture but he is smiling from ear to ear as he is sliding like a pro. My favorite picture is the one of him looking at bugs in the dirt....a minor distraction until he could get his head back in the game.

Bench Warmers...

We had fun sitting on the bench, watching Shep play T-ball. Hudson ran into his old buddy, Erek, who was playing on our field after Shep's game. K-Dizzle was busy listening to her Ipod and taking self-portraits of herself, I was busy getting tons of hugs and kisses from my little Hud-man and Shep was just too darn cute taking a water break. (I love that Shep's feet don't touch the ground). If only Daddy were here to join us on the bench....

Happy Easter!

Our Easter was action packed but not so great since Daddy was out of town working in Colorado. We miss Daddy so much but tried to make the most of Easter without him..... We started by volunteering at the Easter Eggstravaganza at church on Saturday. I walked around with the boys and we helped with the Scavenger Hunt. Children between 3rd and 6th grade would "come find me" and I would ask them a bible question, if they got it right, they got 3 candy filled Easter eggs. Kay-Kay helped out with the pancake breakfast and did an awesome job. They boys got their faces painted...Shep got a snake on his arm and a skeleton on his face. Hudson had his face and hands painted as a lizard. They had fun rock wall climbing, bounce houses and Easter egg hunts to boot. And, I was so busy that I completely forgot to bring my camera to capture it all.....I can so kick myself! That evening, we came home and made our annual Easter Ressurection cookies with Brad....that was fun!

The boys woke up on Easter morning and got a big surprise from the Easter Bunny....Spiderman buckets of games and candy. Brad and Christine spent the night and went to church with us. JJ even joined us too! We came back and had a laid back lunch and had fun listening to Brad play the guitar. We ended the afternoon with a game of football and soccer in the field behind our house. The boys fell asleep on their big stuffed ducks from JJ. It was an almost perfect day....if only Daddy were home; THEN it would be perfect!

"Shep, don't throw your nuts on the floor!"

I packed Cashew nuts in Sheppard's lunch today. I guess he didn't like them because when I picked him up from school, Ms. Lisa said that he threw his Cashews on the floor. She saw him do it and said, "Sheppard! Don't throw your nuts on the floor!!" and as soon as she said it outloud, she and Ms. Selina couldn't stop laughing outloud. Shep didn't pick them up and for a second time, she asked in a different way and said, "Sheppard, please pick your nuts up off the floor!" Well, then the teachers started laughing again...so, I guess I won't be packing anymore pornographic peanuts in his lunch box anymore......

First T-Ball Game of 2009 Season -

Our little slugger started his new season of T-ball again. He is on the Padre Team with his buddy, Cole, whom he played with last year. His first game was the Padres vs the Red Sox. Shep is a natural athlete and can hit the ball really good. He does tend to get a little side tracked by the occational bug that crawls across the dirt and will lose focus on the game for a little while. But, Cody will yell, "Game ready, Shep!" and Shep jumps to attention again and is back in the game. When he does focus, he is in it 100% and loves to slide to home base. He took a running slide to home and slid a good 5 feet....just a few feet away from Home. But, all of the parents and coaches clapped and cheered on our little champ! He came home and did replays of his slide on our wooden floor....he was very proud of himself but not as proud as we were!

Spring Sing Celebration Dinner...

Shep picked Dairy Queen for his big celebration dinner after Spring Sing. Nothing tops off a special evening better than family, a greasy cheeseburger, fries, soda and a yummy Dilly Bar!

Shep's Preschool Spring Sing

Shep's preschool classes had their annual Spring Sing. It was too cute to watch all of the children sing 6 songs about Jesus. Shep did a great job of singing and following along to the hand movements. Can't believe our baby is growing up so fast!!! How did that happen?

"I want to help Daddy!"

Sheppard is the ultimate "helper"....he is always volunteering to help me cook in the kitchen, help me fold clothes, help me close the garage door and today he wanted to help Daddy blow the grass off the sidewalk with the blower. He was too cute...he ran inside and got a pair of my reading glasses so he could protect his eyes and then did a darn good job of cleaning off the sidewalk with Cody!

Boys and puppy dog tails, frogs and snails..that is what they are made of!

Cody was trimming trees in our backyard when he found a big frog underneath some tree branches. He ran inside and got the boys and told them to come and see his frog discovery. The boys were in awe, to say the least. This was their first frog encounter one on one! Hudson leaned down first to touch the frog on the ground and the frog leaped forward, sending Hud backwards with a shreek! It was too funny. But, Cody showed them the fine art of holding a frog and pretty soon the boys were picking up the little guy and carrying him all around the yard. The frog had a smokin' new Tanka dirt truck that he got to ride in. The frog also got a very nice house, our Chiminea, thanks to the boys. They even filled the Chimenea up with water so he could have his very own swimming pool. Pretty soon, the frog got tired of his big city life style and new friends and hopped away....
