Spring Break Fun...

Spring Break has been fun and exhausting! We have done so much this week! We have gone to a birthday party, a bounce house, played laser tag, had play dates with friends, went to a park, played Super Heroes, climbed trees, rode bikes, gone for walks and collected pine cones. The highlight of our week was taking a tour at Pizza Hut. A few Moms got together and we took our kids to a Pizza Hut store where we got the big tour of the facility. The kids loved the walk in freezer and the oven. The oven was actually amazing. It heats up to 465 degrees and can cook a pizza in 6 minutes. No wonder they can deliver in 30 minutes or less! Each child got to make their very own pizza, watch it cook and take it home to eat. We all took our creations and went to the park to enjoy. It was a fun day....especially for Chef Shep!

Hudson's Open House Night

Hudson was so proud to show off his classroom and class work for his big Open House night! They have been studying the human body so his surprise for us was an outfit that he created about his body. His hat was a picture of the brain, his body showed his organs and he also made X-rays, it was really neat to see all that he had learned.

Hudson's first school girl crush....

I picked Hudson up from school today and he got in the car all excited. I said, "Hey, Bud, you must have had a great day at school today!". He said, "Yes, I did! Gemma stuck a note in my backpack and I haven't read it yet. Open it!!!! Open it!!". So, while driving, I pulled his backpack over the seat, rummaged through it, found the envelope and opened it. Hudson then read it outloud in the car. I smiled from ear to ear as I looked back and saw my sweet Hudson was blushing a brigh read. He read the note over and over and couldn't wait for Cody to come home and read his note. It said, "Dear Hudin, Thank you for being my friend. I live you. Gemma". There were pictures of a boy face and a girl face and hearts on the bottom. This is one of those notes that mommy will keep forever in his keepsake box. I must say, Gemma has great taste in men!

"I want to cook a lizard..."

I was working in the backyard, pulling weeks. The boys were running in and out of the house playing up a storm. I first noticed that they were digging holes in the backyard. I asked what they were doing and they said they were "digging a hole to the center of the earth". I replied, "Cool! Knock yourself out, have fun!" (knowing that this would keep them occupied while I worked on the lawn). A few minutes later, I noticed that Hudson was still digging but Shep had run into the house. I went inside to check on him and saw him standing in the living room (see picture above). I don't know how his little self did it but he took apart our smoker and drug it into the house and reassembled it. I asked him what on earth he was doing and he said, "I want to cook a lizard.". I said, "Oh, ok, why would you want to do that?". He said, "Well, I am Chef Shep. I like to cook ." Nuff said. I somehow convinced him that it was not a good idea to be cooking in the living room and that if he really wanted to cook a lizard, we would wait until Daddy to come home and ask him. Thankfully, by the time Cody got home, Chef Shep had forgotten all about his Lizard-Tar-Tar!

Katy goes to "Tacky Prom"....

Katy's high school church group hosted a "Tacky Prom" this weekend. It was a lot of fun getting KK all gussied up to go to her big event! We went and bought her a prom dress, which was actually not tacky at all, so she will be able to wear it again someday. But, we made it super tacky when she put on her neon tennis shoes on. We piled on tons of make up and didn't leave out the super tacky blue trailer park eye shadow. We teased her hair a mile high and added tons of hair spray to make it stay. (This was was fairly easy for me to do since this is how I wore my hair back in the 80's!). I dropped her off at 6 and picked her up a couple of hours later. She even got up the courage to go into CVS pharmacy all dressed up so we could develop pictures for her photo album! Brave girl!

Children's Symphony in Plano

We took the boys to The Children's Symphony at The Plano Courtyard Theater. It was so much fun; they had a hands on "Petting Zoo" where they boys could pick up instruments and practice playing with them. After experimenting with all of the instruments, we went into the hall and listened to they symphony. It was a really neat way to introduce the boys to music. The entire symphony was geared towards children and they played fun children's music to engage the children.

Going Bonkers!

We stumbled upon a fun little play place called "Going Bonkers" in Lewisville! It was a mega-size jungle gym and even strong enough to hold us big adults. It was a ton of fun!
